Tale of The Trail
The Trail of Painted Ponies originated in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2001 as a public art project that created a new paradigm, bringing communities, businesses and philanthropic organizations together in a mutually beneficial marketing partnership, with art at its center.

One hundred and twenty of the best artists in the Southwest were invited to let their imaginations run wild and creatively transform life-size fiberglass horse sculptures into stunningly original and gloriously diverse works of art. The horse was selected because, as a symbol of beauty, strength, and freedom, it is an American icon. The dazzling results enchanted hundreds of thousands of people and, at auction, the sale of Painted Ponies generated close to one million dollars for philanthropic organizations.

Since that time The Trail has expanded, involving more communities and hundreds more artists from around the country, while continuing to blaze a trail into an artistic frontier.

Now many of these beautiful statues are available in collectable size models.  They range in size from 6 to 9 inches but still display the details of the original full size art pieces.
